Bianca Melanie was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in May 1984 in an eventful fashion. She hemorrhaged inside her mother’s womb, causing her mother to go into premature labor with her and her sister, two months prior to due date. It would be later be discovered that the cause stems from a neurological condition she had called Sturge Weber Syndrome(SWS), not knowing or understanding how this condition played a part in her lifetime development of petit maul epileptic condition and the distortion in her memory, speech, and thoughts, along with the slight paralysis on the left side of her body. It also resulted in her being a visual learner, thriving in the Arts and Mathematics, and falling short in areas such as English and History. Her condition resulted in her growing up in a very sheltered and almost stifling atmosphere, where she felt she had no voice. She discovered an outlet to release her frustration in the creative arts. Growing up in a divided household while she spent the school year with her mother in Philadelphia, and spent the Summer and Holidays with her father in Boynton Beach, Florida and Marina Del Rey, California led Bianca to be surrounded by different cultures and experiences. It was her father and his love of the arts that took Bianca to her first College Art Exhibition at the Santa Monica College in Los Angeles, CA.
Currently Bianca Melanie attends the School of Visual Arts and is expected to graduate in May 2019 with her MFA Fine Arts Degree. She earned her BFA in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts at the University of the Arts. In 2016 she won a Philadelphia Watercolor Society Award. She exhibited her works at the Arronson Gallery in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 2016 and 2018. She recently showed her works in Brooklyn, New York and has a upcoming show in Chelsea, New York.
